GulfStar Group Promotes Rupert Gerard and Ben Stanton to Senior Vice President

Rupert and Ben Promo V4.jpgHOUSTON, February 19, 2019 -- GulfStar Group (GulfStar), one of the leading middle market investment banking firms in the U.S., is pleased to announce the promotions of Rupert Gerard and Ben Stanton to senior vice president. 

In their new roles, Gerard and Stanton will be responsible for overseeing the deal process and serving as integral parts of the firm's business development efforts. Both were promoted within the firm several times and most recently, served as vice president.

Gerard joined GulfStar in 2014 as an associate. Prior to that, Gerard worked for Castleton Commodities International's natural gas business development team, where he was focused on upstream acquisitions. Prior to Castleton, Gerard worked at the hedge fund Taylor Woods Capital handling commodities research and at the fund-of-funds firm 1794 Commodore Funds, where he was involved in portfolio management, manager selection and marketing. Gerard received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Government from Georgetown University and a Master of Business Administration from INSEAD. 

Stanton joined GulfStar in 2012 as an analyst. Prior to GulfStar, Stanton worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) as a senior associate in the private client service assurance and due diligence practices. While at PwC, Stanton performed financial due diligence for corporate and private equity-backed acquisitions of public carve-outs and privately held clients. His audit experience focused on privately held and small cap public clients. Stanton earned a Master of Science degree with a concentration in finance and a Bachelor of Business Administration with a concentration in accounting from Mays Business School at Texas A&M University. Stanton is also a Certified Public Accountant licensed in Texas.
